Ikebana classes at active canvas:
If you thought that ikebana was just placing flowers in an empty vase then think again. active canvas brings to you an Ikebana course which teaches you the popular Japanese art of floral arrangements. This art originated in Japan more that 500 years ago. Ikebana, to many in Japan means ‘giving life to the flower’ but it has a deeper more spiritual connotation in expressing living nature aesthetically. This method has gained widespread international fame for its focus on harmony, color use, rhythm, and elegant but simple designs. This course is certified by the Ikenobo School, Japan, one of the oldest SChools of Ikebana.
There will be an introductory level and an Elementary level. The introductory level which is for beginners will focus on the Moribana and free style arrangements. The Elementary level will focus on the traditional style and Shoka style which by many is considered the most difficult.
