German for Beginners

Days and Time: Saturday & Sunday, 10:00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m.

Suitability: The course is suitable for anybody who wants to learn German Language for the first time. It is apt for:

• working professionals who are travelling to Germany for official purposes / business meetings
• school children (above 12) who are studying German language as a subject in school
• students who are going to pursue further studies in Germany
• those planning to travel and live in Germany and
• anybody who is generally interested in learning a foreign language

Course description: The Beginners course focuses on vocabulary, grammar, technique and comprehension of the language. Attention is given to speaking and listening skills . The course familiarizes the students with basic communication skills needed to interact with people such as introducing oneself, shopping, making appointments, expressing state of health, and so forth.

• Introduction / Greetings
• Origin / background and culture of Germany
• Travelling in Germany
• Important cities
• Concept of numbers and colours
• Family and the house
• Food and drinking habits
• Shopping – how to negotiate and daily pricing enquiry
• Daily routine and planning – weekly, weekend, free time
• Profession / Work atmosphere / Environment / Location
• Concept of time : Days / Months / Seasons
• Health and Body

The beginner level can be completed in 24 sessions.

No. of sessions: 12 (Students need to enrol for a minimum of 12 sessions) The beginner level can be completed in 24 sessions.

Fee details:
Course Fee:- Rs.3000 + 10.3 % service tax - For 12 sessions
Material fee of Rs.250 will be charged for reading material.
Registration fee :Rs.500/-. This is applicable only to students enrolling for the first time at active canvas.

Please note:

• You could continue attending the classes through out the year by paying for 12 classes at a time.
• Classes missed by students cannot be made up.
• Validity period will not be extended.
