Traditional painting classes at active canvas
Mysore Painting :
Mysore Painting is a form of painting that evolved in the state of Mysore during the reign of the Wodeyars. Traditional Mysore Painting is normally done on paper pasted on cloth or wood. After the sketch is made, a distinctive relief work called gesso is done in the areas where jewellery and other ornamentations are to be painted. Gesso is used to enhance these areas. These areas are then covered with 24K gold leaf. A Mysore Painting usually depicts Indian Gods from Hindu mythology.
Tanjore Painting :
Tanjore Painting dates back to a period when the Nayakas of Tanjavur in Tamil Nadu encouraged development of the arts. These paintings are notable for their adornment in the form of semi-precious stones, pearls, glass pieces and gold. They are also known for the rich vibrant colors, dashes of gold, and fine artistic work. The paintings are mostly of Gods and Goddesses and the figures in these paintings are large and the faces are rounded and divine.

A one-time registration fee of Rs.500/- is applicable to all students enrolling for the first time at active canvas.
