Divya Raghuram

Divya’s passion for promoting the arts began in the summer of 1997 when she experienced working at the Frankfuter Hof, a cultural centre in Germany. She saw the over-arching impact art had on bringing people & cultures together, and vowed to start an arts centre of her own in Bangalore. After many years of working and gaining recognition as an artist of rare caliber (dancer, actor, director etc), Divya got the opportunity to realize her dream when she teamed up with her sister Raksha Sriram. Apart from a varied work experience, Divya’s degree in Business Management and Marketing has added to her professional abilities in ably running such an ambitious venture.

Raksha Sriram

Raksha Sriram has been relentless in the pursuit of the arts purely for the pleasure she derives from it. Always fondly recollecting the art classes she enjoyed as a child and lamenting the lack of such a retreat for adults in the city, she was determined to create a space where children and adults could engage with the arts on a continuing basis. She teamed up with her sister Divya, who shared her vision and started active canvas in 2007. While she holds an MS in Advertising from Syracuse University New York, she credits her creative expertise with her work as a graphic designer, dancer, writer and the varied travel & cultural exchanges she has enjoyed.

Sriram Nadathur
Promoter, Investor

Sriram is a Director of Nadathur Holdings and Investments, a VC firm that specializes in funding start-ups with a difference. A long time patron of the arts, Sriram readily agreed to come on board and ever since has been giving active canvas the much needed direction & guidance for steering it towards a path of sustainability and eventually profitability. Sriram holds an MBA from Northeastern University, Boston, is an avid traveler and is passionate about studying varied subjects from architecture to history, from life sciences to philosophy.
